The Dress

I could not think of a better first topic for my new Wedding Blog – THE Dress. Why is it so enticing? Why is it so important? Now I can’t say for sure, but I really believe it has something to do with all of those Disney Princess movies we grew up coveting. When else can we wear an over the top white(ish) dress and get away with it?! The less-than-traditional theme of The Knot’s Fashion Issue tells us to break all of those primitive rules. Let’s take a look: Melissa Sweet showed us that two is better than one with these separates. She balances the raised hemline with one of spring’s latest trends, a lace top.

No, you won’t need those silly glasses to see the beauty of this dress. Jenny Lee used tulle and organza to create one of the newest trends for spring :“3D gowns.”

The dress goddess herself, Vera Wang, decided to alter the ever popular mermaid silhouette just a tad. This extra room above the knee will not only allow you to be a better dancer, but will also create a more flattering shape than the traditional, hug you in all the right (and wrong) places, mermaid. So, yes, you can have dessert tonight!
