As a huge animal lover, I know that your pet is as important (if not more) than your family and friends. So I understand why you want to incorporate them into one of the most memorable days of your life! When you think about it, what’s worse – your 3 year old nephew or Sparky carrying your jewels down the aisle? I hear mixed opinions in regards to incorporating your favorite animal into such an important day, so here are some tips to make it work!
Let’s take a closer look at Sparky’s attempt as a ring bearer – I suggest not tying the wedding bands on until 5 minutes before his call time. This is to ensure that he cannot run anywhere besides down the aisle! Still not confident in your pooch? I would make them a flower bearer instead to calm your nerves.
Another way to include your best four legged friend is to include them in your wedding photos. (This is all providing the venue allows animals!) Give your photographer a heads up so he can research creative poses. And do not let them be underdressed!
You can still feature your pet without having him there. A great idea is to make a donation to your favorite or local animal shelter in lieu of favors. It will make your guests feel good for giving back!
