From our family to yours

Since 1963, the Lombardo family has made it a priority to give back to the community it serves. The Lombardos strive to support the success of local organizations through charity fundraisers and gift programs, including:

Giving Thanks Celebration - A Free Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors

Every Thanksgiving, the Lombardo family hosts a free Thanksgiving dinner for seniors and those who do not have family with whom to spend this special day. Each year, more than 200 volunteers serve a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.

A tradition that has lasted over 35 years, the free Thanksgiving dinner began at Lombardo’s East Boston facility, which closed in 2000. As a result, the family brought this well-loved tradition to Randolph, opening its doors to residents throughout Boston and the South Shore. The first year saw nearly 600 attendees and last year nearly 900 people were served.

Vincent’s Nightclub Anniversary Celebration

Each year, the Lombardo family chooses three local charities to benefit from its annual black tie celebration of Vincent’s Night Club. Invitees are asked to make a donation to one of the evening’s featured charities. In return, the Lombardo family pays for 100% of the evening’s expenses, allowing all ticket sale proceeds to go directly to the charities. Over the last decade, the event has raised more than $670,000 for many commendable organizations!

This year’s event raised nearly $50,000 for Boston College High School, Piers Park Sailing Center and the Randolph Police Department’s Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Program and hosted approximately 500 guests at the combined Vincent’s and Lombardo’s facilities in Randolph. Feed the Hungry – A Fundraiser to Benefit Interfaith Social Services

November 29, 2007 marks the date for the Tenth Annual “Feed the Hungry” event, which benefits Interfaith Social Services’ food pantry. The Pantry Shelf supplies nutritious and wholesome food to those in need throughout the South Shore. For the past six years, Lombardo’s has been a Platinum sponsor for the event in addition to serving as the host facility.

Additionally, Paula Lombardo-Colia, Chief Administrative Officer of the Lombardo Companies serves as the co-chair for the event, which features dinner, award-winning entertainment and a silent and live auction.

Long Island Shelter – “Serving Ourselves”

For over 20 years the Lombardo family and staff has spent every third Tuesday of the month sponsoring and serving meals at the Long Island Shelter’s “Serving Ourselves” program. Located in the Long Island Health Campus in Boston, the Long Island Shelter is an emergency shelter that provides food, emergency clothing, healthcare and other shelter services to homeless people in the Boston area. The Long Island Shelter provides 386 beds for men and women over the age of 18 and provides transportation between the shelter and Boston.

Chief Administrative Officer Paula Lombardo-Colia is credited with initiating Lombardo’s involvement in the shelter. She first heard of the shelter through the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and encouraged her family to take part. Each month Lombardo family members, current employees, former employees and close friends can be found serving food to the less fortunate.
