All of your advice was spot-on. The process was challenging, keeping within the budgetary constraints of a nonprofit, but you could not have been more helpful or gracious. Lombardo’s is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t say enough about the staff. Every single person I interacted with was beyond pleasant and couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Every. Single. Person.
It was a successful and lovely event and we received a great deal of immediate, positive feedback. Thank you, again. I really enjoyed meeting and working with both of you. I do hope we work together again.

It was so nice getting to see you both on Tuesday and share some of the positive feedback we received from guests about our Spring Gala on Saturday night. I cannot say enough how pleased the leadership team, Gala committee and I were with Lombardo’s. My phone has been ringing like crazy, my email box filling up and people have been stopping by to comment on the event -especially the food and service at Lombardo’s! I thought I would share a few of their comments:
From our honoree: “My wife and I both thought the dinner was excellent. The beef was far more tasty and tender than the “usual” filet mignon, and far more reasonably priced, I am sure, than the “even more usual” surf and turf, which is rarely that good, wastes food and throws money down the drain. The potatoes and vegetables were nicely done, too. It was a pleasure to enjoy the dinner.”
From Milton Selectman: “Everyone at my table commented that the dinner was delicious. I found it much easier to hear the speakers than it was in previous years, when the background noise drowned out their voices. And it was a great idea to have the silent auction tables in the lobby, where more people would see them and bid, instead of in the dining room as in past years.”
From the wife of the President of our board: “The room looked so beautiful and the night went off perfectly!”
A guest at my table after tasting the short rib: “If I closed my eyes I would not believe I was at a function for 400 people. I would think I was at one of the best restaurants in Boston.”
In addition to the wonderful food, the service was top notch. The bartenders kept the lines moving quickly, the hors d’oeuvres passers were circulating perfectly and at dinner, the servers were attentive, but almost invisible in that there was no disruption at all during the videos or speaking program. That is a fine line that is not easy to pull off so thank you to all of them for their professionalism. In addition, a guest called me to specifically recognize their server who she says served at the White House. Our guest said that this server made the night even more enjoyable for everyone at her table! We raised 30% more on site than we did last year and I know that the great food, service, look of the room and overall vibe, fueled the positive feeling in the room that led to more auction bids and more bid numbers being raised in the fund-a-need program.

I just wanted to send you an email, thanking you for helping us put on a fabulous Brunch for Mother’s Day! Everyone absolutely enjoyed themselves. From the ambiance of the room to the delicious food, it really was a beautiful day. It was a pleasure working with Sal and Tammi, they were very attentive and so very nice and accomodating. We look forward to hosting our brunch at Lombardo’s again next year.
I just wanted to write to you, again, and tell you how thankful I am. Here were are almost two months later and I just gave Make-A-Wish their donation today. Without you or your team I would never have been able to pull that off. You all made it possible for us to make money with a great budget and you created an amazing atmosphere.
Working with you all was amazing, your office was always so fun and friendly! You work with a great team and they work with an amazing person.

I just want to take a moment and thank you for living up to the commitment you made me last spring when you tried to convince me that Lombardo’s is a venue that we wanted for our 30th class reunion. While my classmates and I remembered Lombardo’s as a Prom and Function type facility, we were looking for a place for the reunion that would have memorable and outstanding food along with a great venue, and near to a hotel for the classmates who needed that as well.
Last night your staff provided a lovely and magical experience for my classmates that far exceeded our expectations. The professionalism of your staff at all levels of your organization began when I had to ask you to take the deposit off of one credit card and move it to another after we firmly decided (as a committee) on the lovely Jessica Room after the Chef’s menu tasting. You and I met and since then, my interactions with Jessica, Ameris, Joan, and last night Norbert, the bar tender, and all of the wait staff didn’t disappoint. I know we were a difficult client for many reasons not the least of which was fewer than expected guests and changes to the services, but every step of the way I was personally treated with respect and professionalism and I so very much appreciate it! Ameris deserves 5 stars as she was so wonderful and a true asset to your organization!
As you promised, the food prepared by your new Chef Eric was wonderful. I heard compliments all night long on the appetizers, salads and meals. The tater tots were a surprise item on the menu last night as I didn’t recall ordering them, but aside from that, the rest of the meal was prepared beautifully and was delicious.
The tasteful decorations and overall captivating ambiance was observed and noticed by our many guests who were going to help tell others how wonderful Lombardo’s is now. Again, I know we were very difficult clients due to our changing requirements, guest lists, and my lack of focus on planning this event due to the prolonged illness of my mother, but I so appreciated how your staff handled every aspect of these challenges.
Lastly, one of the guests observed as we were living that perhaps if you updated the sign visible near the highway to better reflect all of the interior improvements it may help your business as it doesn’t seem as classy as the interior has become.
I promised you that I would write a testimonial for you after our event when you exceeded our expectations and indeed you did.

I wanted to first start off by thanking you and your staff for everything on Friday night. Everyone was amazing and so helpful, which always makes an event go much smoother. The food was delicious, the room was gorgeous and the photo booth was a hit! I cannot thank you all enough!!
I just wanted to write to you to thank you for creating such an amazing evening. If there is anyone that made the Gala so successful it was you.
You helped me from the start create a budget that would work, formed an amazing menu, and also brought my vision alive. When I walked in that night and everything was set up I was astonished. Never in my wildest of dreams would I ever have imagined something so amazing and beautiful.
It was great, from the up lighting on the walls creating the mood, to the beautiful table setups inviting guests in, and the delicious food that people raved about. Everything was just amazing.
Not only was the night amazing but so were the Staff. The setup crew helped me tremendously and moved things around to make it the way I wanted it. The servers were so polite and so knowledgeable and they brought out all special meals right on time and to the correct people. David Lombardo was also wonderful to work with. He brought high top tables right out immediately and really helped us and was available all night.
So thank you Joan for helping me and making my vision come alive. Thank you, thank you, thank you- from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for hosting another fabulous evening for our Friendship Home Gala. It is always a pleasure for our staff and volunteers to work with you. Your warmth, energy and sincere appreciation of the Friendship Home mission cannot be denied. The entire Lombardo’s team is accommodating and very attentive to our needs and requests. This year, you went above the call of duty. Not only did you deliver perfect weather, but your staff was very helpful to our photographer by hanging our beautiful portraits. The portraits looked amazing and added another dimension to the night.
Please let Eric know that everyone loved the short rib meal. It is amazing that he delivered such a delicious meal in such a large quantity, and your waitstaff is efficient, attentive and cheerful. Every year, we marvel at how dinner is served and cleared in such an unobtrusive manner. Our evening program continued on without skipping a beat, as your staff cleared dishes quietly. The ballroom looks beautiful in all of our event photographs – lighting, linens, table settings, etc

A huge thank you for you and your team’s support at last Friday’s event with Victory. It was a HUGE success on all fronts and the level of service and support that your team provided was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived to the end, everyone was responsive, checking in on us throughout the day, having food/snack available and plentiful at just the right time, allowing us access to the adjacent ballroom for our activity- honestly, it was a level of service that rivals anything we’ve experienced. Kudos to everyone.

Thank you again for all you did to help us create a lovely and wonderful event. Despite the weather we really had a great time. The room was perfect. The staff were terrific; the woman who was the lead for staff in the room was outstanding. She was worried that I did not get to eat because of running the program, so she set aside a plate of munchies for me, which they kept warm in the back. She was outstanding – and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, it looked great on the table being passed – and people were very, very happy. This was a big step for us, on many different levels, but not the least of this is the beautiful space, great sound system, and very, very nice people at Lombardo’s. Our Chief Development Officer thought the venue was terrific and her whole team commented about how excellent they thought Lombardo’s is for a function or event. We would be thrilled to have this event here again next year – and more. I will certainly enthusiastically recommend Lombardo’s as an option for future happenings.

For many of the guests it was their first time at Lombardo’s. Many of the lawyers and judges work in Boston and most events are held there. Prior to last night, most thought Randolph was the other end of the world- now they know that not only is it easy to get to but it’s an exceptional venue with food more delicious than any they’ve had at any of their other events, impeccable service, and a functions manager that makes sure every detail is to the customer’s satisfaction and beyond! And there is ample parking- an added plus!!!!
I’m also writing a separate note to John Yee and Sharyn for the absolutely amazing food and flawless service! I have been to so many events corporate and social at many different venues all over the country and the food and service at Lombardo’s was the best! John, Sharyn and their staff (Aveline, Betty, Tammi, Iris, Maureen and bartenders Andy and Billy) should be very proud – we couldn’t be more pleased!
The cocktail hour was a huge success – loved the Grand Display and everyone else did too. My guests thought the music added just the right ambience to the cocktail hour- they all thoroughly enjoyed Classic Groove (Steve Tashian and pianist). You have his CD. I hope you will recommend them to other clients- i know I will have them at future events!
You had left when one of our members, Barbara Senecal who is in charge of the Scholarship Committee and has been with our group forever, said loudly while at the podium that ” This was the BEST banquet we have EVER had!!!! Fabulous!!!’ I hope John heard her but I know everyone else did and agreed wholeheartedly!

From the moment we walked into Lombardo’s we knew the venue was perfect for our formal Hollywood themed affair: however, when we sat down with you to discuss menu and details , that secured our decision to have our fundraiser at Lombardo’s with you as our coordinator and point person. Lombardo’s not only has the spectacular ambiance for a formal affair, but it also has delicious bountiful food as well as extremely attentive and detail oriented staff; that is what sets apart a good function facility from a great function facility. Since this was our first fundraiser event and we were new to the arena, you were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in putting all the pieces of the event together from the menu, to the auction items set up, display of sponsors, decorations, etc. Because this was for a fundraiser and we were trying to be as economical as possible in order to raise the most money we could possibly raise for the very special children in need, as well as for the institutions that care for them. You were instrumental in making the event economical, while looking extremely elegant. We could not have asked for a better coordinator to help us put on an amazing fundraiser event. Joan, you went above and beyond the call of duty and helped us with details that were not in your job description, because you cared! You even came to the event with your daughter to make sure all went smoothly the day of the affair, and we so appreciated that.
The staff at Lombardo’s did a great job arriving early to set up not only dinner and buffet tables, but also assisted us in setting up the display tables and easels for our main auction items. They were extremely efficient and attentive to what we needed in terms of set up for the event. Although they were busy setting up the dinner and buffet tables, if we needed something, they would drop what they were doing and immediately assist us. We mean this when we say that you and all the Lombardo’s staff helped to make our fundraiser event a real success. This is truly what has made us want to have our fundraiser event there annually. When I informed attendees that we will be hosting the fundraiser event each year at Lombardo’s they were thrilled! We hope to grow the fundraiser event each year in order to give back to Lombardo’s what they have given to us.
